after my time in Futa has expired i was running out of time in Chile… I really wanted to go to Isla Chiloe so i contacted some awesome couchsurfers and went for a few days before returning north to Santiago to see some friends and fly back to Canada (click photo for album).
So when i returned to the Aysen there was a big protest going on and i had to leave, all roads were shut down and there was no gasoline available so my only option was to hitch back into Argentina and i met a dutch couple and an israeli who squeezed me in and took me to Esquel where i made it to the town of Futaleufu in time for the Futa Fest (click for photos)

I stayed here for a little while after with a nice Argentinian couple i met through couchsurfing and had the opportunity to go rafting and on a kayak trip from Futa to the ocean with Expediciones Chile.
So i finally had an opportunity in late February to travel down to El Chalten to do a mountaineering expedition with a bulgarian geologist and my friends Cuto y Pascual at Kalem Tourismo (click photo for Album).
The trip was unbelievably scenic and we had perfect weather. It was also tough because we all had to carry several kilos of rocks on top of all our mountaineering gear.
